2 Mistakes José Peseiro Made As Nigeria Lost
The Super of Nigeria lost to Ecuador in this day’s friendly match in South America. The Super Eagles have since lost back to back friendly matches against American teams..
They went to Mexico a few days ago and today they lost to Ecuador. A single goal from Estupinan in the first minutes of the match assured Ecuador a win.
Nigeria had a good performance, but failed to make the most of the few opportunities they had to score. Here are two of the mistakes that Jose Peseiro and his team made today.
1. Terem Moffin Should Start Before Emmanuel Dennis
Terem Moffin played until the last minutes of the match before Emmanuel Dennis was replaced. Moffin didn’t work in concert with his other strikers and couldn’t create chances nor capitalise on chances of scoring. If he had stayed on the pitch longer, Emmanuel Dennis would have provided more. However, the Watford striker missed a huge chance of achieving a goal in the last minutes of the match. Emmanuel Dennis played a lesser number of minutes, but still had a huge impact.
2. Beginning Awaziem Ahead of Ola Aina
Awaziem began ahead of Ola Aina, which should not be. Ola Aina has something to offer this Super Eagles team that Awaziem does not. Aina has the strength and pace to effortlessly get past his adversary. Awaziem does not show such abilities. Jose Peseiro will need to take into account certain players if he hopes to make an impact with the Super Eagles..
