Mesut Ozil Finds New Club Immediately After Fenerbahce Terminated Contract

Mesut Ozil wasted no time in searching for a new club after his Fenerbahce contract was terminated, according to the World Cup winner..

Ozil’s official announcement of his departure from Fenerbahce occurred on Wednesday afternoon. After signing a deal with city rivals Istanbul Basaksehir, the German is going to remain in the Turkish Super Lig.

Ozil is yet another former Premier League player to play for Basaksehir, following the footsteps of Emmanuel Adebayor, Demba Ba, Martin Skrtel and Gael Clichy.

Basaksehir was formed in 1990 but has since become one of the best teams in the country, winning their first Super Lig title in 2020. During the season following, they famously defeated Manchester United in the Champions League group stage.

Ozil will join his new club together with the likes of Stefano Okaka, Lucas Biglia and Nacer Chadli.

The 33-year-old moved to Fenerbahce Boys club in January 2021 after his Arsenal career bitterly ended as Gunners manager Mikel Arteta cut him out of the Emirates club squad.

The midfielder was eventually allowed to leave his Arsenal contract early and chose to sign a three and a half year deal with Fenerbahce.

His time in Turkish football began off superbly after he scored nine goals in twenty six matches, but his association with Fenerbahce soon turned into a bitter affair.

He broke up with the then supervisor, Ismail Kartal, that saw his game time drop dramatically.

This summer, Kartal was replaced by former manager Jorge Jesus of Benfica, who quickly made it obvious that Ozil was no longer required.

Jesus said, “He had his time, space, he has a wonderful history in Turkey, no one can take it from him,” he said.

He’s a world – famous player. ” But I will exactly follow what the end of the Ozil period was. ”

Ozil’s move came as a shock after his agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, stated his client was not looking for a move away.

Sogut, who gave the interview to the Daily Mirror, said: “There’s no possibility of any movement, he still has two years left on his contract, and he’ll stay there,” she said.

The German agent also suggested that Ozil is going to spend the remainder of his career in Turkey.

He added: “he wants to retire in Turkey. he wanted to do that all his life,” he said.

“I can not see him going from there to another country, right now.” It could have been done before the move to Fenerbahce, but that’s not what it is now, I guess. However you will never know in football..
