Mohamed Salah would like Liverpool to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final this season..
The Reds faced Los Blancos in the 2018 final, with a second half brace from Gareth Bale and Loris Karius’gift for Karim Benzema making sure that Zinedine Zidane’s men ran away 3-1 winners in Kyiv.
Salah, who entered the showpiece event off the back of a record breaking debut season with Liverpool, had to be replaced in the first half with a shoulder injury sustained by Sergio Ramos.
Salah admitted to BT Sport after Liverpool’s 3-2 second leg win over Villarreal that he would prefer facing Real Madrid in the final than Manchester City.
Salah said: “I would like to play Madrid. I need to be honest. “Manchester City is a really tough team, we have played against them a couple of times this season..
“personally, I’d prefer Madrid, if you ask me.” We have lost to them before in the final, I would like to play them and ideally win. “
If they’re to advance to the final, Real Madrid must overturn a 4-3 total deficit against City.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men had been comfortably second best at the Etihad Stadium but are still in the tie because of more heroics from Benzema after he got a brace, with Vinicius Jr getting Real’s other goal previous week.
Real have won their previous 7 Champions League finals and haven’t lost one since being renamed the European Cup.
